Bike Helmets – did you know?

Did you know bike helmets have a shelf life? Consumer Reports recommend your helmet be replaced immediately if in a crash and every 5 years based on normal wear and tear, and perhaps up to 10 years for an unused helmet stored in good condition. (unless manufacturers recommend otherwise). There should be a label inside your helmet that will tell you the year it was manufactured, you do the math! Time flies when you are having fun!

Good news for local cyclists! Many of the local bike shops are offering great deals. I just picked up a new helmet and gloves today at Forks Bicycle Shop on sale at 40% off. Clothing and shoes are also 40% off.

Check out all of our local shops and keep your dollars local, many of these shops have supported our club with sponsorship, we need to support them back!

Happy riding!
