Wednesday Gravel Rides:

Sponsored by…

Gravel riding in Grey and Bruce counties is truly fantastic! These rides explore low-traffic township roads and rail trails with limited riding on paved roads to connect with gravel routes. These rides are suitable for gravel bikes (similar bikes usually with 38mm tires or greater), mountain bikes, or even fat bikes.

New this season (2026): midweek gravel rides! Group co-ed rides are scheduled on every Wednesday evening (May-Sept) @ 6:00 pm. There will also be occasional (i.e. likely once monthly) longer weekend gravel rides on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Keep an eye on the calendar.

Riders will be split into two groups to accommodate pace preference.

Distances on Wednesdays will usually be 30-40 km starting from and returning to the listed meeting point. Some meeting points will be outside of Owen Sound to access the region’s excellent gravel roads.

Ride Captain: Brian O’Doherty.

Wednesday Time Trials:

Sponsored by…

Time trials will continue to run at 6:30 pm Wednesdays, as per schedule published on the calendar. This schedule will be subject to change depending on weather, road condition, participants. We will utilize the historical TT courses, both east and west of Owen Sound, scheduling with rider input.

An individual time trial (ITT) is an event in which cyclists ride alone against the clock. Starting times are at equal intervals, as determined by the ride captain. Riders are not permitted to draft (ride in the slipstream) behind each other.

All OSCC members are welcome. TT events are a great personal training / fitness benefit, and test. The courses differ in distance, often with a shorter and longer option, and with varying elevations. Any safe working bike can be used. Some will be full aero (TT / triathlon); some Eddy Merckx style; MTB if that’s you.

Ride Captain: Colleen Ouwendyk
