DESCRIPTION:This week’s ride – start and finish at Kelso Beach at 19th St stop light parking lot.   \nRoad Route: \n\nHead west on 19th St to Summers.  Right on Summers over to 30th St west\, turn right.  Left turn on Range Rd. Left on 17A through Ben Allen to Copper Kettle\, left at Copper Kettle to Shallow Lake.  Upon a regroup at the church\, return to to 17A.  A right on 17A at Copper Kettle followed by a left turn at Indian Acres Rd (Conc 10).  Once you reach Grey Rd 1\, turn right and back to Kelso. \nSIGN UP HERE

SUMMARY:Gravel Ride - UPDATED on June 2 - Park Head start
DESCRIPTION:N.B. UPDATED ROUTE and START LOCATION – JUNE 2 \nI changed the starting location from Shallow Lake to Park Head after riding the rail trail from Shallow Lake to Park Head.  It’s been recently groomed and is very rough. It wouldn’t be fun to ride (twice). \nPark Head Start – A 32 km (256 m of climbing) loop.  Meet in Park Head at the community centre on Park Head Rd.  We’ll start with a 4 km there and back segment along seldom used rail trail that meets Silver Lake Rd.  Returning to Park Head we’ll cross Bruce Rd 10 onto concession 5 Keppel and connect to a clockwise loop of rolling tar and chip and gravel roads.  Return to Park Head by the same concession. \nPark Head is a great starting point for gravel riding south towards Allenford.  We’ll be riding on well surfaced\, rolling and quiet roads.  Consider planning your own adventure and challenging yourself on Allenford Rd\, the north section of Side Road 5 (which we will be avoiding)\, Crooked Hill Rd and Blind Line.  These other roads can have challenging surfaces and climbs but all are exceedingly quiet and beautiful. \nBrian O’Doherty \nSign up here \n\n

DESCRIPTION:June 22 – N.B. Route updated due to coarse gravel conditions on SR’s 20 and 25. \nA 38 km (290 m of climbing) clockwise loop starting from the Tara public parking lot on Yonge St.  There are segments on relatively busy Bruce Rds 10 and 17.  The gravel segments on Mill Rd\, the Elderslie-Arran townline\, and SR 5S were the best that I could find. \nBrian O’Doherty \nSign up here
