The Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey Bruce is encouraging the community to jump on their bikes to raise awareness for mental health in the 5th annual Ride Don’t Hide event on Sunday June 24, 2018.
Ride Don’t Hide started in 2010, Michael Schratter, a Vancouver school teacher and columnist, cycled around the globe to raise awareness and funds for mental illness. This has been a very successful endeavor. CMHA hopes to make this into a nationwide annual event, where riders will cycle for change from the negative stigma which shadows mental illness.
This year’s Ride Don’t Hide will be held on Sunday June 24, 2018 starting at Kelso Beach Park in Owen Sound with routes for every skill level. Participate in the 100k, 80k, 50k, 25k routes along one of the most beautiful scenic routes in Ontario along Grey Road 1. An all accessible in-park route is also available for families, individuals and those that wish not to ride on the road. A BBQ lunch, entertainment & all kinds of fun activities will also be offered on this day.
