Weekend Gravel Rides:
Gravel rides are scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday morning, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Gravel rides are recreational exploring area low-traffic township roads and rail trails with limited riding on paved roads to connect with gravel routes. The pace of rides is dependent on the group. There is often time taken to stop to enjoy the unique nature of our area, to look at a stream, or just to “smell the roses” or fresh cut hay as the case may be. Starting points will be determined based on the route selected but are often based outside of Owen Sound to minimize paved road riding.
These rides are suitable for gravel bikes (similar bikes usually with 38mm tires or greater), mountain bikes, or even fat bikes. Sub-groups may be created depending on the number of riders or the predicted pace. Distances range from 30-50 km and rides last 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the route.
You must be a club member to participate.
