Gravel Ride – Bayshore arena to Walters Falls

N.B. Start time will be 9 am (rather than the usual 6 pm) on this July 1 holiday Wednesday.

A challenging 73 km (1009 m of climbing !) route starting from the Bayshore arena parking lot.  We’ll follow the east side rail trail to Sunny Valley Road. Hilly gravel roads bring us to the summit at Walters Falls.  We’ll loop back to Sunny Valley Road returning to Owen Sound on the east side rail trail.

We’ll aim for two groups of riders but I’ll also ask that riders “buddy up” with another rider.  The groups may break up so I’ll ask everyone to download the route on their phones/devices and be prepared to navigate yourselves, if needed. These hills are challenging and breaks after climbs are encouraged but I’ll ask that no single rider be left to ride alone.

I recommend that you pack a hearty snack and extra water as there are no services on this route.
